Vincent A. Restivo, M.D.
Dr. Vincent Restivo is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in LASIK, PRK, cataract care and other advanced methods of vision correction. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is past president of the Austin Ophthalmologic Society. A native of Boston, he began his education at Holy Cross College in Worcester, Massachusetts where he received a B.A. in Biology.
Following a research fellowship at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute at Harvard University, he earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1997. Dr. Restivo completed his internship in Internal Medicine through Boston University before returning to Houston to complete his residency in Ophthalmology through the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 2001.
After completing his medical training, Dr. Restivo joined a private practice based in Round Rock, Texas, where he refined his skills as an eye surgeon and provider of excellent eye care. Today, he proudly serves his patients as the chief medical physician of Hill Country Eye Center. Dr. Restivo and his wife, Heidi, live in Austin and enjoy spending time with their sons Maddox and Liam, and their two dogs, Anna and Sadie.
Todd R. Shepler, M.D.
Dr. Todd R. Shepler was born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After winning the 5A Oklahoma Cross-Country State Championship his senior year in high school, Dr. Shepler attended Rice University on a track scholarship.
He transferred to the University of Kansas and in 1993 graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He then attended the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine where he served as Class President. After medical school, Dr. Shepler completed a transitional year internship at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas. He moved to San Francisco, California, where he completed a three-year residency in ophthalmology and served as Chief Resident at California Pacific Medical Center. He then completed a two-year fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive surgery in Austin, Texas. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has been practicing in the Austin area since 2002. Dr. Shepler has been actively teaching undergraduate students, interns, residents, and fellows in the central Texas area since 2002. He also served as President of the Austin Ophthalmology Society from 2003-2005. Dr. Shepler was recently awarded to the 2013 Texas Monthly's Super Doctors list which is only given to the top 5% of doctors in Texas.
Dr. Shepler’s interests include running, boating, fly-fishing, snow-skiing, traveling, and coaching soccer for his two boys. He is married to Maria C. Shepler, MD, a comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery.
Peter T. Wollan, M.D.
Dr. Wollan is a native of Austin who is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist. He met his wife, Dr. Megan Hahn Wollan, while they were attending high school together locally. His wife is currently a practicing anesthesiologist. Their daughter, Anna, recently arrived in the world and is learning new things everyday.
Dr. Wollan received his Bachelor of Science at St. Edward's University, double majoring in biology and chemistry. He received his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where he also continued his residency in general ophthalmology with fellowship training in glaucoma.
He has a keen interest in glaucoma. His formal training includes filtering, shunt, and other corrective procedures. Dr. Wollan is also accepting general patients including cataract surgery candidates and people suffering from dry eye. Dr. Wollan has an interest in artistry and considered majoring in art before deciding to pursue a medical degree. He recently returned to Austin and is looking forward to participating in volunteer screenings and other community outreach programs.
